The best thing that you can do at home to help your special needs child with their oral healthcare is to establish excellent oral hygiene routines and stick to them. By reinforcing them with repetition, the routines will cement a place in their everyday lives and they’ll be able to maintain a good sense of oral health. For example, instructing your child on good brushing and flossing techniques can go a long way. You can demonstrate the proper way to floss and brush and assist them if their special needs situation requires it.
